How to order tags from a spreadsheet

Ordering more than a handful of tags? Put your names into our spreadsheet template, upload the file, and every row becomes its own engraved tag, priced at your volume rate. Here is the whole thing, start to finish, in about ten minutes.

01

Click on Print in Bulk

It is in the menu at the top of every page, second from the left, or go straight to the Print in Bulk page. Everything after this happens on that one page.

02

Scroll to the bottom of the page

Past the empty form and the pricing box there is a panel headed Or upload your list as a spreadsheet. That panel is where the upload happens, and everything from here on takes place on this one page.

Download the template

Take the .xlsx version for Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, or the .csv if you would rather work in plain text. The columns are already named and there are sample rows showing the format.

Use the template rather than your own file. It saves the guesswork about which column is which.

Fill in one row per tag

One row is one tag. Each column is one line on it.

Column 1Line 1. Up to 22 characters. Bold, the heavier of the two text sizes. Usually the variety name.
Column 2Line 2. Up to 26 characters. Italic, same size as line 1. Usually the rootstock, or when it was planted.
Column 3Line 3. Up to 30 characters. Plain and smaller. Usually where it came from.
Column 4Quantity. How many copies of that same tag. Leave it at 1 unless you want duplicates.

Spaces and punctuation count toward the limits. Leave any line you do not need blank, then save the file somewhere you will find it again.

The example row near the top of the template is there to show the format. It is not turned into a tag, so you can leave it where it is and start your own list underneath.

05

Upload the file

Back in the panel at the bottom of Print in Bulk, click Browse files, find the file you just saved and open it. Dragging the file onto the box does the same thing.

Check what came through

Your rows land in the table at the top of the page, one line each, and every field stays editable. This is the moment to read them properly, because what is in these boxes is what gets cut into the steel.

Anything over a character limit is highlighted so you can shorten it. Press Preview on any row to see that actual tag rendered at the top of the page. The price on each row drops to your volume rate as soon as the count reaches the next tier.

Add the whole list to the cart

One button takes the lot. Each row arrives in the cart as its own line item, since each is engraved separately, but the order ships together as one parcel.

Read the cart, then check out

The cart lists all three lines under every tag. It is the last easy place to catch a misspelling, so it is worth one slow pass. To change something, go back to Print in Bulk and edit the row there.

Shipping is free over $20, so a bulk order of this size carries none. If you have a discount code, open Add coupons above the total, type the code in and press Apply before you check out.

If something looks off

A field is highlighted after upload

That text is longer than the line allows. Shorten it in the table and the highlight clears. Nothing is engraved without you seeing it first.

Nothing appeared when I dropped the file

Check the file is .xlsx, .xls or .csv, and that the column headers still match the template.

I want two identical tags

Put 2 in the Quantity column rather than repeating the row. Both count toward your volume tier either way.

I only need a handful of tags

Skip the spreadsheet. Type straight into the table on Print in Bulk, or order a single tag from the front page.
